I had a lot of fun decorating for Christmas this year. The sun was coming in so beautifully yesterday, I had to take a few photos before it moved on. The only thing I would change (and will change) is the color of the painted furniture. In my last apartment many of these pieces were in different rooms. Now they are all in one room and it’s a bit of a crazy color kaleidoscope!
Aside from that, I’m loving the cozy plaid and the greenery.
This little desk in the corner has been in our family as long as I can remember and the plaid luggage was my grandmother’s back in the forties! So cute, right?
I made the “Joyeux Noel” banner a few years ago and it’s still one of my favorite things.
This year Pete will be playing Santa at an event at my work. I thought this little sleeping Santa was the perfect touch on his night stand.
A close up look at the banner. I used an embroider font that mimics wood and glittered with Martha Steward bronze glitter. The papers were from a scrapbook paper pad and I backed each letter with sheet music.
Close up of the desk- can you see that the little vest my brother is wearing is the one that is hanging on the twig hanger? So sweet! On the middle shelf are my snapshot blocks I made by decoupaging old photos onto wood blocks. They’re such fun to play with!
I like the way the rest of the apartment turned out too and I hope to get some photos soon.
Happy making, friends!
