What a beauty, right? The manufacture date on the underside is July 1960. The table has drop leaves and came with two extender leaves! Everything is solid wood and it’s nice and petite. The entire set was a craigslist bargain for $60!
So far I have sanded and stained the top in a dark walnut and am currently having an inner dialogue about the color I’ll use to paint the chairs and table legs. I was seriously considering apple green that I would then glaze and lightly distress, but now I’m leaning toward a cream color.
I’ve been so inspired lately by Miss Mustard Seed and all of her beautiful furniture. That woman is a home decor guru! I can’t wait to try a slipcover with her tutorials. When we first moved into this house, I made a cute red toile slipcover for a loveseat, but her dropcloth covers with the darling pleats are really striking. If you haven’t been to her blog, you owe yourself the visit!
