Not me, sadly. But Miss Columbia is ready to go to New York for the charity auction. I’ve finished her undergarments. 100% hand sewn. Little pintucks on her cammy. Crocheted lace edging on the front edge of the camisole and around the hem of her bloomers. Pretty blue satin ribbon to finish it all off. She says she feels ready now to board a plane and take her place with all the fabulous dolls that will be participating. (I sure hope someone will want her!) Just for reference, this is the doll I finished (mostly) in June. She is a reproduction of the famous Miss Columbia made by Emma Adams. The original traveled the world with luggage and a diary to raise funds for children’s charities at the turn of the last century. I hope my humble homage to her will raise some funds for the Evangeline Booth Home in New York.
