Welcome friends! Today I am kicking off what I hope will be a regular Wednesday series- “Something Beautiful”. It may be a simple photograph or story or poem, but hopefully it will inspire us in the middle of the week to reflect on what is good and beautiful in life.
If you’ve loved decor and design for any length of time, than you may be familiar with Matthew Mead and even if you aren’t, you have probably seen and admired his work in favorite magazines like Country Home and Country Living.
I remember a special Christmas Country Home long ago that featured his work and I loved how he took simple things like brown paper bags and created magical holiday decor.
In recent years, I was pleased to see his friendship with Amy Chalmers on her blog. Here are some of her posts about their collaborations. Matthew has also published a number of books that you can find on Amazon. (Note- Amazon also has the Puritan Matthew Mead’s works on the same page- different guy!)
I also really enjoyed this article about Matthew and, of course, his Instagram is incredibly inspiring without being impossibly unattainable!
After decades of sharing his gifts, now Matthew needs us. He is in kidney failure and there is a Go Fund Me account raising money for a kidney transplant. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to see Matthew continue to add beauty to this world. Please consider a donation.
Thank you, friends! I’ll be back Sunday to show you my craft room refresh.
