I felt really bad last week when I posted about my current swaps and yet could not include a picture of one of Cindy’s dolls. They are so beautiful and I can’t believe I didn’t save them! But…she emailed a photo of a 6″ doll she made that is somewhat in the style we are discussing for our swap. This is a little painted cutie. We are talking about making a cloth doll that will look like a peg wooden. Right around Hitty size. Here is an antique one that is really pretty:
(It’s the one on the right.)
And this third picture is a new pattern by Barbara Schoenoff in the same style. Isn’t she pretty?
Anyway, this is an exciting new venture for me. I’ve done old fashioned painted dolls before, but I’ve never tried a “sweet pretender”. I think it was Anne Vlasik, on VCD who coined that term for a cloth doll intended to like another medium. Cute, cute, cute!
