I have been over at my backtack recipient’s blog, looking for clues. I’m pretty sure I know what I need to do, but she is not a very frequent poster, so there will definitely be some guesswork involved! However, earlier this year she anwered a questionnaire for another swap and I got a lot of good information from that. I thought that you, my Backtack Sender, might appreciate a little help from me!
Favorite colors: I like bright, happy colors, especially combos like blue and yellow or Hulk Juice green and red. But I also like pink. Who doesn’t like pink? But I don’t like purple.
Crafts I want to do: I think needlefelting is just about one of the coolest things ever. I am constantly amazed at what people come up with. The range of design possibilities is very cool.
I also like to make small items from 1930’s reproduction fabrics. You know, like notions bags! But I never have enough good fabrics. I know, that’s not a new craft, but it’s not dolls and it does get me excited!
Another cool thing I’d love to try is tatting. It looks so amazing. I wonder if I can actually do it, but I’d sure love to try.
Random things that I love: I love vintage textiles and vintage handwork. I pretty much love anything from the 1930’s. I love the smell of pumkin pie. I love long, thick hair. (Can you swing that for me, Backtack Buddy?) Peace and quiet are two of my favorite things in the world. Nothing is nicer than a soft, chenille bedspread. I like to lay on my bed in my periwinkle blue bedroom and look into my canary yellow bathroom, just to enjoy the contrast. I wear medium strength reading glasses from the drugstore and love all the little accessories that go with them. My favorite thing about crafting is feeling like I’ve made something out of nothing. I like patchwork, but don’t do it very well myself. I like kitties and babies. When I was young my favorite books were Little Women, the Heidi series, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, the Little House on the Prairie books and now that I am older I’ve added Ann of Green Gables and Hitty to the list! Oh and I love candy. Chocolate, caramel, english toffee types of goodies.
Things I collect: I try not to collect! Once you start, the whole world knows what to give you for gifts for the rest of your life! That said, I have always had a thing for miniatures. And now that I’ve fallen for Hitty, my brain is really starting to whir with ideas for shadow boxes! One of my greatest treasures is a tiny stoneware pitcher and basin, made by hand with a blue mottled glaze. It was given to me by a friend many years ago.
Well, that’s more than enough, isn’t it? I hope you are reading, Backtack Buddy! For the rest of you, we will return to our usual ramblings shortly!
