We moved into our house in July 2022. We’ve never used our wood burning fireplace! I just couldn’t do it until we had a proper inspection. That finally happened today!
Pete saw a sign for a local chimney company, Jeremy’s Chimney Service and we checked out their reviews on Google. Looked good- lots of good reviews so we made the call. That was on Saturday, December 30 and their technician, Roy, was here at 10:00 am, January 2! That impressed me!
Roy completed the $69 inspection and let us know about some of the problems. I should probably let you know that our house is 51 years old, so we expected that something would need to be addressed. We agreed to have him clean it for $329, made some mortar repairs for $99 and repaired the crown for $279.
Here are some photos of the before and after of the crown repair- look at all those cracks!
So nice!
We built our first little fire tonight and it was so cozy!
Have you ever had work done on a fireplace? It sure was an interesting process and I am so happy to have the peace of mind!
By the way… how do you like my groovy dinosaur rocks? Stay tuned- I have a great idea for turning this into the old world fireplace of my dreams!
