One of my favorite blogs is My House Is Cuter Than Yours by Mary. When I first found her, I was a little put off by the name of her blog, but after reading her for a few months and seeing all the cute pictures of her house and crafts, I have to agree- her house IS cuter than mine! Anyway, I just love her whole midcentury vibe and the way she gets really into it. Lately, everytime I drive through a great fifties neighborhood, I think of Mary. Today I thought, “Wouldn’t it be fun to document some of these neighborhoods before all their original style is gone?” Then I thought, “Flickr!” So, that’s my confession and that’s why I spent time learning my way around flickr! I’m going to head over there now and start a group called “Midcentury Neighborhoods”. I hope others will join me because all these cute little ramblers are getting stucco and bump outs all over them. Let’s try to get some photographed and saved before they’re all gone. I’m going to call it midcentury because sometimes it’s not always clear that it’s a fifties or forties or sixties house. We’re not going to be that persnickety! Of course, it’s night now, so it will be an empty group! Tomorrow I’ll try to actually upload some photos!
(And then, I’m going to work on my postcards for Myra’s swap!)
