Look at what Earl and I picked on Sunday! I don’t know why, but Earl does not think that sitting home all weekend, working on dolls is a good time. Weird, huh? So he nagged, I mean, persuaded me into going to Lake Natoma as a family. I have to say, it was fun. This is a photo I borrowed from the internet because my batteries were out. Needless to say, it was a lot more crowded! Anyway, we couldn’t leave without picking blackberries and I had just enough to make this beautiful pie:
All that to say, the dolls are still on my sewing table. They are so pretty! Here’s a tiny sneak peek:I couldn’t just stuff them into envelopes, could I? No! So, I’ve been having a lot of fun making custom boxes for the little darlings. First I mapped them out on the foam core poster board.
They turned out to be perfectly sized for the boxes I wanted. That was a happy coincidence! I then cut away the parts I didn’t need and scored the other lines.
I taped them with the only masking tape I had which is blue, creating a need for white paint because I didn’t want to see the blue tape through the fabric. If you have regular masking tape, that is obviously the better choice! BTW, the final measurements of the box is 3″ deep, 12″ wide and 14″ tall and the girls fit beautifully.
Now I just need to finish covering them with fabric and then I will get them out of here. My new deadline is Friday. Yesterday my allergies got the best of me just as I was leaving work. The benadryl put me to sleep, thereby ruining a perfectly good evening! Hoping for better conditions tonight. Sorry Josephine. Sorry Dannielle. Be patient with me!
