What a nice productive month January turned out to be creatively. I think I’ll make this a regular practice- to document the makes from each month here on the blog.
First, there is the January Junk Journal challenge on Instagram. I didn’t keep up with it as a daily practice, but I have done a lot of the pages and I think I’ll see it through. I’ve never done a daily prompt journal like this, but it’s been such a pleasure to watch this little, unused purse calendar turn into a vibrant, scrappy journal!
Second, I’ve been on a hanger kick! That sounds strange, but I recently came into possession of a stack of wooden hangers and this presented a new surface for embellishment. I’ve been doing different things with them. I painted them with chalk paint and some received napkin decoupage with little floral embellishments:
And then I bought some silicone molds on Amazon and made paper clay goodies that I then glued to the hangers. I think these are really lovely too!
Aren’t they lovely?
And lastly, we have the lovely Miss Charlotte. If you haven’t seen her before, there are more pictures of her creation in this post. I have become such an Ann Wood fan- I love all of her beautiful creations and want to make ALL. THE. THINGS! I’ve even joined a group on Ravelry dedicated to her Tiny Rag Doll called Tiny Rag Doll Nation (of course!). Speaking of Ann Wood, she has declared today the official start of the 2020 International Scrap Festival and who doesn’t love that?
