Amelia,the Springtime Birthday Girl
In true Pygmalion fashion, I am in love with my creation! I couldn’t wait to show her off a little bit, but she’s not quite finished. I have a few details to add over the weekend including a Birthday Crown! (Oh my gosh, I’m so excited about the crown!) Anyway, I will be listing her at 9 a.m (west coast time) Monday. She is from the Edith Flack Ackley pattern, “To Greet A Little Girl” which was published as a mail order pattern in the 1940’s. I love thinking of all the mommies and grandmothers sewing this doll for a little girl’s special gift. She is a bigger doll than I usually make- almost eighteen inches. All of her clothing has fasteners so she can be undressed and re-dressed which I think makes her extra special. I know she is going to make someone very happy!
